East Boston School Projects
Our objective with this project was to collaborate with the East Boston school district and local non-profit organizations in order to develop new programs geared towards youth and the arts.
We are already slowly moving forward with our community projects and we are pleased with the results so far. On Friday, March 14, 2008, we went to the Donald McKay elementary school in East Boston (with a population of 98% Latino student). Franz Israel Director of NEGLAA in coordination with the principal School principal Almudena Abeyta, organized a class taught by Raul Gonzalez on how to illustrate comic book characters, which was very rewarding experienced by everyone involved. The students were so enthusiastic they didn’t want them to leave.
We will continue working in collaborate and really affect positive change in our community.
